Chapter 4: Time for Miracles

Adam obviously didn't give up on "us" yet.
Those lyrics are straight from his song for the movie "2012" called "Time For Miracles." And that song really does match with... erm, you know.
Adam had his iPod plugged in and the sound was so high I could hear the lyrics. Adam was murmuring the words as he lay on one side of his bed. This song wasn't depressing and it wasn't happy, but it was hopeful.
"It's late at night and I can't sleep, missing you just runs too deep oh I can't breath, thinking of your smile." Adam was singing the beginning of the song. "Every kiss I can't forget, this aching heart ain't broken yet, oh God I wish, I could make you see." My heart sank. He was obviously singing about me. "'Cause I know this flame isn't dying, so nothing can stop me from trying." Adam writes his own songs, right? Now this is making me feel even worse.
"Baby you know that, maybe it's time for miracles, 'cause I ain't giving up on us, you know that, maybe it's time for miracles, 'cause I ain't giving up on love, no I ain't giving up on us."
I sat down on his bed silently and rested a hand on his shoulder. He jumped and whipped his thumb on the ">/II" or "Play/Pause" button. Adam ripped the earplugs out and turned his head and saw me looking pitifully at him.
I laid down next to him and Adam turned so we were facing each other. I sighed. "I heard you singing."
Adam held his breath. "I always sing."
"You don't always sing 'Time for Miracles.'"
It was silent.
I looked him in the eyes. Into the ocean. It was dark with gray clouds, but I could see a ray of hope shining through the clouds.
"I'm gay."
Adam's eyes widened slightly. He exhaled, and again the room was still.
I didn't want to get too serious tonight too fast, and Adam's scanner mind could tell, so I just muttered, "Yep," and got into my bunk.
It was still silent, and after a moment or two I saw a faint light from Adam's bunk. The iPod.
"So I got my boots on, got the right 'mount of leather, and I'm doing me up with a black colored liner, and I'm working my strut but I know it don't matter all we need in this world is some love."
There was the Glambert! Singing one of his fast beat, hot songs. "If I had You" is what it's called. I smiled of relief. Adam was better now, and this also means a lot more Mr. Sexy from Adam, because now he knows my secret.
Er, it was my secret.
